I always wanted it to end to the power and control. The fear of what he will do next. I used to think he will walk away as clearly he didn’t love me. I used to say if he does this I will end it. I just reacted to his abuse, waiting for the next thing he would do. If you are in this situation find your local domestic violence service to help you. I did and it changed my life for the better. I am now free to breath again.

Freephone Helpline
0808 2000 247The Freephone 24 Hour National Domestic Violence Helpline, run in partnership between Women’s Aid and Refuge, is a national service for women experiencing domestic violence, their family, friends, colleagues and others calling on their behalf.
The Helpline can give support, help and information over the telephone, wherever the caller might be in the country. The Helpline is staffed 24 hours a day by fully trained female helpline support workers and volunteers.

Muslim Women’s Network UK Muslim Some women do not feel comfortable contacting local groups because they are often based in the communities in which they live and fear breaches of confidentiality. These women remain isolated and unsupported.  This helpline provides a safe space to talk about problems because callers can remain anonymous.
